More and more children are struggling with learning and dislike school because it’s hard and they don’t enjoy it. Today more than ever children are labeled with having learning challenges, school performance issues and being difficult to teach. Things would be so much easier if kids liked learning. What if these issues that are being experienced by so many aren’t about the child’s abilities to learn but instead about a gap in communication between students and teachers?
What if we, inadvertently and unknowingly, are creating challenges that hinder their ability to learn?
I had the honor of speaking with Dean Larson about this. Dean is the founder of the Lifetime Learning Center. He has worked with thousands of students with school performance issues using the tools and processes of Access Consciousness. He specializes in honoring and recognizing the learning differences in children and providing ways for them to recapture the joy of learning
and succeed in school.
During our time we discussed how our sense of responsibility, expectations and preconceived judgments hinder a child from learning naturally and performing well. We discussed techniques that clear those hindrances and allow for learning to happen easily. Ways for children to flourish by discovering and exploring how they learn and what works for them.
The information and techniques we discussed are great for all kids but especially relevant
for those thought to have learning challenges.
