Bullying can impact a child’s sense of self-worth and if not dealt with cause emotional damage
that lasts for years. Statistics show that 77% of children will experience bullying at some point between the ages of 7-13 and in many cases they won’t tell anyone about it.
How can you ensure your child doesn’t become a lasting victim of bullying and is equipped
with the inner strength and confidence to stand up and comfortably express themselves
without fear of those who try to devalue and diminish them.
I spoke with Jill Hope, creator of I Shine Kids about this. Jill, triumphant over a bully at age 8
was nearly overcome with despair in her thirties by a bigger bully, until she was reminded of the truth that lived deep insider her as an 8 year old, that the power of her thoughts and choices
created her reality.
During the interview, we spoke about specific strategies that provide children with the mindset and inner strength to feel empowered and bully-proof. We discussed how children can be taught to own their own power and develop resilience. How we can empower children to discover solutions to the problems they may be experiencing. How it is essential that we ensure children have the confidence, self-acceptance and a sense of their own value no matter what happens or who says
what that may suggest otherwise.
